Ronald Readence Obituary

Ronald James Readence passed away on January 14, 2025. He is survived by his wife Eileen and their three daughters; Rhonda, Nicole, and Kristin (Eric) Ortopan, as well as two grandchildren, Ethan and Madelyn Ortopan, who knew him as Pawpaw.

Ron was a man of kindness who taught his daughters to be compassionate, hard-working people. There was nothing his children wanted for, whether it was the latest toys or his time. Ron enjoyed time with his daughters through Indian Princesses where many cherished memories were made including parades, boat races at Hinckley Lake, and weekends at Camp Fitch.

Ron was artistic and enjoyed drawing, painting, and helping his daughters with school projects. He had a deep appreciation for music and taught his daughters to appreciate it as well. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. In the summer, you could usually find him resting under the shade of a tree with an ice-cold Pepsi after tending to his yard.

Going to car shows in Ron's 1965 Chevy Impala was a treasured family past time. Being mechanically inclined, it was his job to service the various family vehicles and ensure that his family traveled safely.

"I got a good one for you" is a phrase that anyone who knew Ron would recognize as his usual prelude to one of his famous stories. Ron had a gift for words and entertained countless friends and neighbors with his storytelling.

Ron's sense of humor and kindness toward his fellow humans will not be forgotten by anyone who was blessed to know him. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Ron's family would like to thank Arden Courts of Parma for their kind and compassionate care over the past several years and Miracle City Hospice for their caring assistance.

A celebration of Ron's life will take place at a later date.
