Raymond G. Proud

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved father, aviator, and friend, who passed away peacefully at the age of 69.

Beloved father of Nicole and Ryan (Jihan); dear brother of the late Kenneth Piotrowski; devoted son of Raymond G. and Selma (nee Tuma) Piotrowski (both deceased).

A lifelong pilot, he found his greatest joy in the sky. Flying was more than a profession or hobby, it was his passion and a defining part of who he was. He approached every flight, and every day of his life, with enthusiasm, curiosity, and an unwavering sense of optimism. The freedom and perspective he found above the clouds mirrored the way he lived on the ground: adventurous, hopeful, and always looking toward the horizon.

Beyond his love of aviation, he was a devoted father whose guidance, humor, and steady support shaped the lives of those who knew him best. He took immense pride in his family and never missed an opportunity to encourage, celebrate, or simply be present. His warmth and positivity made others feel at ease, and his stories will be cherished for years to come.

He lived a life that was full and meaningful, embracing each chapter with gratitude and determination. Those who knew him will remember his infectious optimism, his passion for flight, and the strength with which he cared for the people he loved.

He leaves behind family and friends who will forever carry his memory with them. Though he has taken his final flight, his spirit will continue to soar in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, OH 44142 on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 12 noon. (Please meet at the cemetery entrance.)
