Age 86. Beloved husband of Susan for 62 years; dearest father of Jane Blackburn (Dennis), Andrea Lagzdins (Peter), Tim (Mary), and Laura Avdey (Walt); cherished grandfather of 13; loving great grandfather of three; devoted son of Stephen and Frances Talpas (both deceased); loving brother of Edward (Charlotte) (both deceased), Genevieve Ocepek (Ted), and Mildred Pachuta (Mike, deceased). Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a mold and die maker for 40 years. He was a branch officer of the FCSLA, and a founding member of the Parma Hockey Association. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and Holy Family Seniors group. He was a talented handyman who loved camping, fishing, gardening, attending his grandchildren’s events, watching hockey games and going to Las Vegas. He was also an award-winning wine maker. Most of all though, he loved his family very much. Throughout his life, Richard did his best. He will be sorely missed, but we know he is now with Jesus His Savior.
