Age 75
Passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at his residence.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 24, 1949 to the late Edward and Rita (Taddie) Oktavec.
Jim was retired after many years as owner of Bear Contractors. He was an avid golfer and master joke teller. Jim was passionate about his affiliation with AA and recently celebrated 23 years of sobriety. He took great pride in helping others on their personal journeys.
Surviving are his wife, Constance Phillips; two sons, James Oktavec, Jr. and Jeffrey Oktavec; two bonus daughters, Victoria Grace and Elizabeth Kodysz; two grandchildren, Amber Fair and Kyle Oktavec; two bonus grandsons, Anthony LoPiccolo and Marine LCpl Christian LoPiccolo; two great granddaughters, Aleah and Hayden; siblings, William (Denise) Oktavec, Patricia Oktavec Armstrong, Joseph (Amanda) Oktavec, Rita (Jim) Carney, Ursula Oktavec, Mark (Nancy) Oktavec, Sharon (Dean) Kinter, and sister-in-law, Carol Oktavec; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Oktavec.
Family will receive friends at the Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Road, Parma, OH on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Memorial Services will begin at 4 p.m.
