Beloved daughter of Joseph and Viola (Yakir) (both deceased), dear sister of Rudy and Mary (both deceased), Violet Andrews (Connie, deceased), Therese Petrus (Nick, deceased).
Much loved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, great aunt of many nieces and nephews, and friend to many.
Josie was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Parma, Ohio and active in many ministries as well as taking the Eucharist to shut-ins well into her eighties. She loved the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers. She was an excellent athlete and avid bowler into her late eighties.
She traveled the world extensively with her sister Mary and friends. Her friendships were many and her sense of humor endless. She will best be remembered for her devout faith and gift of humor, which marked special occasions!
She was devoted to her Catholic faith to the end and upon receiving the final sacraments she expired after the last prayer and thus completed her earthly pilgrimage.
Hers was a life well lived and she will be missed especially by her family, friends, and her cat Lisa.
Thank you to all who cared for her!
To her longtime friends and family who phoned, visited, and sent cards, she appreciated it ALL. Witnessing her strong faith and wisdom was inspiring.
Rest in your new homeland Josie, until we all meet again, faithful servant.
Thanks for the laughter!
A private beautiful Mass was held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Parma, Ohio on January 23, 2021 presided by Fr. Peyton followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
