Beloved husband of Naomi (deceased); loving father of Lois Porter (Phil); dear grandfather of April (Mathew), Emily (Doug), and Olivia; dearest great grandfather of Holly Evert; devoted son of Edwin and Gertrude Huber (both deceased); dear brother of Carl, Jane, Gretchen, and the following deceased: Don, Guy, Richard, Anita, and Shirley; dear uncle and friend of many.
U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Gene worked at General Motors and was an avid fan of local sports teams. He supported the Indians/Guardians, CAVS, Buckeyes, and Browns (and even the Steelers a little bit).
Gene’s Catholic faith was central to his life, and he rarely missed Mass. He loved to sing in church and always prayed for others.
Family and Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4170 North Amber Dr., Brooklyn, OH 44144 on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. Private burial in Nicktown, PA.
