Age 70
Dearly beloved wife of Robert Baus; loving mother of Renee Baus and Amanda Rome (Andrew); dear grandmother of Evian and Raylynn.
Connie passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her residence in Hinckley, Ohio on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
To shrink Connie’s spirit to words on a page is impossible. All who knew her can testify to her remarkable presence and her ability to talk to or offer help and guidance to anyone. Always ready with opinion or facts, Connie was never afraid to tell you what she believed or stand up for what she knew was right.
Her smile and laugh were infectious.
She loved her adventures with Bob and the girls, from rock-hounding trips out west to fossil digs in and around Ohio. Connie was always ready to go with a cooler full of delicious homemade food and all of the tools you could possibly need. She was certainly no stranger to hard work; coordinating and taking part in the moving of two houses from Cleveland to Brooklyn, maintaining rental properties, and building two houses including her custom crafted home in Hinckley.
Connie was a caretaker for many including dozens of cherished animals that she took in and cared for over the course of her life. She was knowledgeable, generous, and a master at researching anything to help friends, family members or someone she just met.
Later in life, her grandchildren, Evian and Raylynn, became her great joy. She was always ready for their arrival with a hug, a huge meal, and a stuffed animal.
A memorial service will be held later; contact the family for details.
