Christine "Chris" Gillroy

Age 75, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at New Life Hospice in Lorain, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her daughters.

Living in Cleveland, Ohio, Chris spent her life in dedication to her family, and her work. She was a devoted mother, loving sister, daughter, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Bernard, and her sister, Kathleen. She is survived by her brother, Daniel, and her daughters, Jennifer, Lynn, and Danielle (Greg) who carry her spirit and strength with them always.

Chris worked for many years as a skilled and respected patent secretary, a role in which she took great pride. Outside of work, she had a deep affection for animals, a loyal devotion to the Cleveland Guardians, and a longtime love for Star Trek.

Chris’s life was one of quiet strength, loyalty, and deep affection for the people and things she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who knew her.

Family will receive friends at the Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH on Friday, Apr. 25, 2025 from 3 – 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 6:30 p.m. (Please note that service time has changed to 6:30 p.m.)

Private Family Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Cleveland APL, St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church (W. 14th St), or New Life Hospice House in Lorain, Ohio.
