Audrey J. (Srp) Syder

Age 85 

Dearly beloved wife of Walter for 60 years; loving mother of Cynthia Miller (Craig) and Andrew Syder (Kimberly); dear grandmother of Zachary Miller (Marina), Jacob Miller (Savannah), Sarah Miller (Tyler), Rachel Miller, Bohdan Syder, and Emilia Syder; dearest sister of Joy Kornaker (Kenneth, deceased); dear aunt and friend of many.

Audrey was dedicated and driven in all aspects of her life and her supportive nature will be missed by all.

She was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma. Audrey was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School and Miami University, serving on reunion committees for both. She was a lifelong educator, beginning as an elementary school teacher and continuing with her children and grandchildren. Audrey retired after a successful career at American Greetings Corp.

Audrey was also a tremendously gifted seamstress known for making her daughter’s wedding dress, formal wear for herself and many others, and famously/notoriously creating matching swimwear every summer for her young family.

She had an independent spirit and was unafraid to speak her mind and seek adventure. She loved to travel and prioritized family vacations and road trips to follow family sporting events. Audrey was a sports fanatic in support of Cleveland professional teams, but also a highly dedicated fan to her children and grandchildren’s amateur sports teams attending nearly every game possible; she was a pioneer videographer ubiquitous at Parma High School sporting events (affectionately known as ‘Action 3 Aud’).

Her title “#1 Cleveland Browns Fan” is officially retired.

The family wishes to sincerely thank Arden Courts of Parma and Amherst Manor staff for their loving care of Audrey.  A special thank you to Holy Family Hospice as well as Wellspring Hospice for their dedicated care.   A Celebration of Audrey’s Life will be held on November 23, 2024, with details to follow.

Family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation at the Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Road, Parma, OH on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 1 - 5 p.m. with a celebration of Audrey's life to begin at 4:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donation in Audrey's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Cleveland Area Chapter, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH  44194-1007.
