ALLEN JAMES (A.J.) DORNBUSH

A.J. was many things to many people, son, father, brother, partner, grandson, nephew, friend, mentor, teacher, hero and an example setter. He always said his greatest accomplishment was being a dad. He was a veteran who loved his country and a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. His children will remember him as a man they could go to with anything. He taught them character and to do the right thing even when no one was looking. His coworkers at Kufner Towing knew he always had their back. His friends and family will remember his wicked sense of humor and love of family. He was a pillar of strength for so many, larger than life both physically and in our hearts. He would hate that we are sad and making a fuss over him being gone. He would want us to be celebrating. The hole he leaves in our hearts is huge and only God can fill it.

A.J. was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dornbush. He is survived by the love of his life, Carla Kerr and his children: Travis and Maddax Dornbush and Mackenzie Kerr. His mother and stepfather: Marion and John Fillippi, his grandmother: Christine Peters, his brothers: Rick (Monica) Dornbush, John Fillippi, Mike (Angie) McLaughlin and Jack (Jen) McLaughlin, his sisters:  Amy Fillippi, Anne (Frank) Ferraro, Loretta (Leo) Manzanarez, Theresa (Aaron) Smith and Diane (John) Trifonoff. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Family will receive friends at the Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Road, Parma, OH on Sunday February 21, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Social distancing and masks required.

A.J. will be cremated and a funeral service with military honors will be conducted at a later date at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
